Students should learn the location of the seven continents and four oceans, along with the fifty states, Appalachian Mountains, Gulf of mexico, Great Lakes, Mississippi River, Canada, Mexico, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone national Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and Yosemite National Park.

 

Your student will also be introduced to basic map skills: using a map key, finding directions and using a compass rose, using a grid, and using a distance scale.
